The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, Carlsbad

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. On the positive side, the pool area was spacious and relaxing, and the rooms had a beautiful view from the balcony. However, it was frustrating that the service was really slow, particularly during check-in, and I felt ignored at times by the staff. Overall, while the views were a plus, the service issues detracted from what could've been a great stay.

I recently attended a Christmas party at this hotel, and I can't say enough good things about the staff who truly went above and beyond to make the event special. The venue itself was nice, and the food received high marks. However, my earlier experience checking in was frustrating due to room readiness issues and communication lapses, which significantly affected my overall view.
